Stage 4: Hair!

Varying combinations of cadmium orange (hue), cadmium yellow, cadmium red deep and viridian, with titanium white, were then applied in order to achieve a range of warm orange- and red- browns for Van Gogh’s hair.

Viridian was mixed in sparingly to nudge warmer colours towards browns.

Following this, I used the same combination of colours as above to attain a range of green-tinged grey-browns, which I added specifically to the hairline, with flashes elsewhere, e.g. in the facial shadows.
