This painting was commissioned last autumn (2025). It depicts a Wolseley 1500 classic sports car, which vehicles were in production from the late 1950s to the early 1960s.

The painting was to be a Christmas present from the commissioner to their husband, who had recently bought the car depicted.
I made the painting from photos over five sessions – something like twelve to fifteen hours work in total – starting with a gridded drawing, as pictured at the beginning of the video/slide-show thingy below.
It was painted in acrylics on a primed panel – Ampersand Gessobord – measuring 22.9 x 35 cm (9″ x 12″), a surface I’m particularly fond of at present.
