This is a drawing in pen on paper from a trip to Birmingham earlier today. It’s the top of a classical-style building as seen from a Starbucks near Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery. I’m afraid I’ve no idea what the building was.

Primroses #1

It seemed such a beautiful morning when I stepped outside with my sketchpad and pens. Within minutes the sun had disappeared behind clouds and it had turned rather chilly. Nevertheless, I persevered and ended up with this scrawl of some primroses. It’s a black and white pen drawing in an A5-ish sketchpad.

Primula in a Tea-cup

I haven’t done a drawing in a wee while and wanted to squeeze one in today. So this is a quick black and white sketch in pen on cartridge paper. I felt a little rusty in all honesty. The subject is a Primula in a tea-cup, a present from my mum. I’m hoping to find…

Daffodil #3

This blog might appear to be a little daffodil-obsessed at present, but they look so lovely at the moment it’d be rude not to give them some attention. This daff is from the same bunch as that painted yesterday (‘Daffodil #2’). Today’s drawing is a black and white sketch in pen on A5ish cartridge paper.

Rainbow Tulips #3

Yet another drawing of the old rainbow tulips there. I really should try to draw something else soon. I’ve concentrated on one flower this time – a bloom with attractive red and yellow petals. The sketch was made in pen with a touch of coloured pencil. It’s drawn in my A5ish sketchpad.
