Liddypool, in common with much of the UK, has enjoyed some unseasonable snowfalls today. This is a drawing in coloured pencil of some garden plants suffering under the weight of today’s snow. Should have brought them in last night really. It was a bit nippy, wet and gusty outside so I drew this from the relative warmth of the dining room. I don’t remember having tried to draw snow in coloured pencil before, so it was a bit of an experiment. I’ve painted several snowscapes before, including several illustrations. This one, for example – www.birtall.co.uk/illustration/packaging/english-farmhouse-cookies.htm – was commissioned to illustrate a tin of English farmhouse cookies.
