Keep an Eye on the Amaryllis #3

Watercolour painting of an amaryllisA follow-up post to earlier paintings of the same plant. By the time I made this sketch, 6 days after study #2 and 24 days after study #1, this red amaryllis was almost in full flower. I was intending to make this A4 study a more-or-less ‘pure’ watercolour painting with the merest of initial drawing in pencil. However, I got carried away with the pencil and the results are more of a ‘pencil and wash’ affair.
