Thanks and Goodbye, Summer 2015

Sketch of Köpenick, Berlin

It’s mid-September and starting to feel distinctly chilly here. A fleece-lined shirt has been donned and the warm socks are out. The summer is fading to a vague memory, thoughts are turning to central heating and cocoa, and high street shops are trying to flog us Christmas.

So… I thought it might be nice to post a drawing made on an idyllic mid-summer day. Warm memories of my wife and I lazing on the banks of the Dahme at the Best Western Hotel am Schloss Köpenick in Berlin, just a couple of months ago. This unhurried sketch was made in Uni Pin fine line pens and coloured pencil over a double-page spread of a 14 x 9 cm pocket sketchbook.
